Handforth Parish Council has been receiving calls from people who want help during the Corona Virus crisis (and a large number of calls from volunteers ready to offer help, too). Cheshire East Council have established a substantial scheme to provide help during the emergency, with very substantial funds coming from Government. The team responsible for this are committed to providing both advice and practical help to residents - financial advice, advice on Government benefits, help with Council Tax and many other options, plus delivering food where needed and practical help. We support this scheme because it is professionally run, properly funded, and competent to provide the various types of advice needed.

Nevertheless, to be sure people are provided for, we are in constant touch with Hope Central (formerly Hampers of Hope), and the Rev Burmester at St Chad's Church, who assure us that for the present, they have sufficient stocks of food and resources.

Handforth Parish Council

PaddockThe aim of this website is to provide you with information about how the Council operates, detailing decisions it has made in the past and what it hopes to achieve in the future.

The Council was formed in May 2011 and consists of seven councillors representing three wards.  Meetings are held in public and time is always set aside for public participation on agenda items.

In addition the Council holds committee meetings dealing with specific areas, Finance, Employment and Planning & Environment.  As the work load in these areas varies throughout the year, meetings are held as and when required, with planning meetings being the ones held most frequently.

The timings, agendas and minutes for all meetings are displayed on the Meetings page.
